Complete My Self-Portrait
Lesson Outline
I took a photo of Cam’s face and cropped it, so it only shows half of his face: one eye, one ear, and one half of his nose and mouth. I printed the cropped photo, and Cam cut it out and glued it on the left side of a piece of drawing paper. Cam had to draw the other half of his face to create his self-portrait. This art activity is excellent for learning symmetry and strengthening visual-spatial relationships as well as practicing shading and learning proportions. Cam drew an excellent self-portrait with good proportions, shading, and texture. Bravo!
