Lesson Outline
1. Teddy completed practice problems from a sample test. My objective was to have Teddy work on his own through the problems. He completed 15 problems. He answered 13/15 correct on his own, without any guidance from me. After he answered the question we then talked about the problem; discussing techniques, tricks, his thought process, etc to help him gain insight to the problems. He did a good job working through obstacles. There were 2/15 situations where he answered the question, but his answer was not one of the choices. He looked to me for guidance, but i just looked at him and shrugged my shoulders, thus forcing him to go back and find his error on his own. This is a big step for Teddy because this is what he needs to do on the test; work through obstacles. He was used to doing parts of a problem, then expecting assistance on through the "challenging" parts. Obviously, on the ACT he will not have a tutor for assistance!
