Emma and I met at the Gardens mall to conduct surveys for her course projects. We approached people sitting in the food court to ask if they would mind answering a few quick questions for her school project. Most people were very supportive, but some did refuse to participate. It was a good exercise in managing rejection and helped Emma to understand how involved a statistical study is. We were thrown a few curve balls in the responses that we received. After the first few tries, we took a moment to change the phrasing and rehearse it. Most people we approached after that were willing to participate.
