Emma and I discussed the following aspects of the Stock Market Crash of 1929 and the Great Depression: the golden age of the 20s and how it created issues that led to the crash, how the crash of 1929 is related to the crash and recession of 2008-2012, the difference between a depression and a recession, FDR, the FDR memorial and its statues and what they represent (soup kitchen lines, fireside chats), Projects in the New Deal such as the Civilian Conservation Corps and the Federal Writers Project, and the FDIC and how is protects us today.
