Emma and I discussed the following topics today: how the New Deal promoted economic recovery, new laws enacted to regulate systems, obstacles to and criticism over the New Deal, life during the Great Depression, the causes and effects of the Dust Bowl, and the legacy of the New Deal in terms of reformed labor relations, welfare, and Social Security.
