Chase completed an entire WADE assessment. Following are his scores.
Reading:
Consonants = 96%
Digraphs/Trigraphs 66%
Vowels = 38%
Additional Sounds = 0%
Welded sounds = 75%
Total Sounds = 52%
Real Words = 83%
Nonsense Words = 65%
Sight Words = 94%
Total Words = 82%
Spelling:
Words = 75%
Sight words = 72%
Chase did a wonderful job on the test. He read all twelve lists without ever getting five in a row wrong, the criteria for stopping. Up through list 9 (the equivalent of Step 9 of the 12 Wilson steps) he had at least 8 out of 10 correct. An 85% indicates mastery of a step so at 82% for all the steps he is very close to a mastery score. For nonsense words his score is lower but a mastery nonsense words score would be 80%. He had a great attitude throughout the testing. Chase is an articulate and creative boy who was focused, competitive and a joy to work with.
