Wilson 3.2 Two syllable words ending in ic
Lesson Outline
We started with the sound drill and then reviewed words ending in ic and ct. Symone then matched syllable cards to make words. Next she read and sorted word cards into piles depending on the rule they followed. She charted 15 out of 15 correct words and then read sentences. After completing dictation, we read an article about the Compliment Guys. She highlighted her copy, selecting what she thought was the most important idea in each paragraph. Then she reread those sentences and retold the article in her own words. This seems to be her favorite part of the lesson as she enjoys the stories about people best. We finished with a review of the 6, 7 and 8 times tables. She wrote out the complete times tables on a white board and then answered questions from another white board on the opposit side of the room. While she was able to answer many out of order, she was still needing to check her written out tables in order to answer correctly. It has been a pleasure working with Symone this summer and I wish her well in the coming school year!
