photo/biology homework-
Due to a severe weather event, this class was truncated. During what time we did have, Will and I discussed his homework assignment. He was concerned that he could not complete the assignment and it was too hard. I told him he did not have to have three examples, but only one, and I assured him that if he could not do the project, we can do it together on Tuesday. I suggested that he take a photo of his dog, another photo of both dogs, and a third of both dogs and the turtle, and he would have completed the assignment. We discussed how one dog is an individual, two dogs are a population, and add the turtle and that makes a community. I would consider that a complete group. I also suggested that a yard of grass, equals a population, as that is many of the same plant. We talked about other examples of each group. I also told him he could use non-living things to represent each group (checkers, chessmen and a checker board is a good example of an ecosystem). Homework: take one photo of an example of each: individual, population, community. - and ecosystem if possible.
