In celebration of Dr. Seuss, Analise watched a clip on BrainPop Jr. We learned that Dr. Seuss isn't in fact just a character in a book, but behind the name is an author and illustrator that used the pen name "Dr. Seuss" based on his middle name. Analise discovered that her pen name would be Dr. Marie :) She began illustrating her own book on the topic of who is in her family.

We read The Diggy-est Dog and Wings on Things. We predicted what the story was about based on the illustration and words in the text. Analise was good at coming up with a main idea and putting it into words.

Analise took a pre-test on Reading Eggs to determine her exact reading ability. Based on the results, we worked on sound recognition, rhyming, and word building with three parts (blended sounds such as -ir were too difficult) Great job today, Analise!
