Making a video -
Today, Will took group photos of all students and teachers that went on a field trip today. Then, using iMovie, he combined background video with the stop-action video he created from his photos in Photoshop. He also examined his audio track. He used the GarageBand application to listen to his track, finding the sections he needed for a scene, and converted it to a audio file. We discussed what a sound editor and a sound mixer does Will was interested in how the ‘sound’ category at the academy awards relates to a team of people including the sound editor, mixer, recorder, Foley artists, and many others, who all work closely with the director. We also talked about the other teams the director works with when making a movie, including the costumes, sets, script writing, cinematographers, camera operators, and producers. Homework: write script for the hallway and the teachers reaction scenes.
