Sound recording and mixing -
Will and I discussed, and contrasted, the work done by a sound recorder, a sound editor, and a sound mixer on a film. With the distinction Will focused on the sound effects he needs to complete his movie. He researched several effects online and decided to record some sounds himself. We set up a small sound stage area and Will captured some sound effects including breaking eggs, and a ticking clock. He did many takes to make sure he had a clean and suitable sound bite. He then edited them into individual sounds, and chose the best from the many takes. He then added them to the movie, making sure they match the action in the film. Today he did the work of a soundman, a sound editor, and a sound mixer, all while functioning as the director of the film.
