Dillon started the session with a Fluency Progress Monitoring passage. He scored 74 wcpm which is right on track. He then practiced another fluency passage called, "Open House". Dillon brought this passage home for practice during the week. Next, we started an informational text about Kevin Durant. He began with a KWL chart filling in what he knows about Kevin Durant and what he wants to know. He read the first chapter, and we discussed information we found. He was very interested in another book I had about Steph Curry. Dillon asked to bring it home and said he will be reading it over the week and will bring it back on Monday. It's so great to see him so excited about reading! He is doing a super job with these sports biographies because he has so much prior knowledge! He loves his basketball!!!
