Thanks for returning the Stephen Curry book! I hope he enjoyed it. We began our session today with a fluency passage. On his first cold read he read at a rate of 89 wcpm. He did quite well and had good expression and intonation. I sent this home with him for practice throughout the week. He then finished reading the biography of Keven Durant. Dillon identified the main idea and key details in the last chapter. He then used this reading to fill in his reading log for tonight.
Next, we began work on a pair of informational passages about bugs. He began reading the first section titled, "Big Bugs". He identified the headings and main ideas of the first few sections of the passage. We will continue this assignment at our next session. He is doing very well and I enjoy working with him!
