Dillon began the session with a fluency progress monitoring assessment. He read the passage at a rate of 78 wcpm. He had no errors in the reading. Next, we used the same passage to answer comprehension questions. He wrote these answers out so that he could pass them in for his class reading log. He was able to accurately locate and underline evidence in the passage to answer the questions. We talked about the importance of citing text evidence when answering questions on an assessment. Dillon will need to continue to practice this skill and make sure that he gets his answers directly from the text. He is practicing this skill at school as well and seems to be doing a fine job.
