Dillon took his last 2nd grade level OPM (On-going progress monitoring) fluency assessment. He scored at 88 WCPM and then did another read reaching 98 WCPM. He reads with accurate phrasing, and his only ongoing issue is tracking lines of print with his return sweep. We will continue to practice this next year and over the summer he should be encouraged to do some reading out loud to build oral fluency. Next, Dillon read another article about the solar system. He did the questions independently, and then we reviewed and he underlined the text evidence for his response. He needs reminders to use the test strategy of reading all possible responses before selecting his answer. He did a great job scoring 90%! Dillon demonstrates continual improvement and he is doing very well.
