3 to 4 Multisyllabic Words: How to Read, Spell & Mark
Lesson Outline
This will be the first lesson that will concentrate on the skills that are taught in Substep 3.4. The concentration will be on reading and spelling 3 & 4 syllable words. I will also have Sophia mark these words for digraphs, glued letters and bonus letters and have her state the rules for separating words into syllables as she separates the words.

Reading multisyllabic words was difficult for Sophia. During the Charting section of this lesson, Sophia missed 8 out of 15 words. I could tell that she was getting frustrated. When asked to mark a 3 syllable word, she wasn't sure of herself, and needed help. I have her do more word marking in the lessons to come.
