Substep 3.4: How to Read and Spell Multisyllabic Words
Lesson Outline
The lesson will again focus on reading, spelling and marking 3 & 4 syllable words. I will model how to read a sort passage and make a movie in my mind in order to recall the details. I will also model drawing a picture of what I read. Once the modeling is finished, I'll ask Sophia to do the same.

During this lesson, I had Sophia read a short passage and asked her to make a movie in her mind as she read in order for her to remember the details of the story. I modeled the procedure and then asked her to do the same. It turned out that Sophia had a difficult time just remembering any of the details of the passage. The passage was from Substep 3.4 which had words that she did not know. It maybe better to start with a passage from an earlier substep. I had Sophia mark up 3 & 4 syllable words. She did better today. Showed more confidence in what she was doing.
