Substep 3.4: Reading, Spelling and Marking of 3 & 4 Syllable Words
Lesson Outline
In this lesson, Sophia will be ask to read a list of words that contain both long and short vowel words. We'll play a game that will provide practice reading long and short vowel words. The rest of the lesson will follow the normal format, which includes reviewing letter sounds, rules to separate words into syllables, practicing finger tapping and writing dictated words. During the oral reading section of the lesson, 10 sentences will be read. Sophia will be asked to silently read them and then scoop the sentences into phrases and then orally reread them.

Sophia incorrectly read some of the long vowel words. She substituted a short vowel word for them, and didn't recognize that she did. The rest of the lesson went well. I noticed that Sophia substituted the word, for, for the correct word, of. This has happened before.
