Substep 4.1: Introductory Lesson for Vowel Consonant Silent E Syllable
Lesson Outline
This is an introductory lesson for the VCE Syllable. The five long vowel sounds will be introduced along with their clue words. The procedure for marking this new syllable will be introduced and some practice will be provided. After the introduction of the new syllable, the normal format for a lesson will be followed. Each section of this lesson will focus on long vowel words in the VCE syllable.

Having provided the extra practice of reading long vowel words during the previous week, seemed to be beneficial. Sophia had no problem using the new information about the VCE syllable when asked to mark several long and short vowel words. She voiced that she was tired and showed it by her posture at the desk. However, she did everything that she was asked and did well.
