Substep 4.1: Vowel-Consonant-Silent e Syllable
Lesson Outline
In this lesson, a new sound for the letter,s, will be introduced. "S" might say /z/ when it comes between two vowels as in rise. The responses for the long vowel sounds in the sections, Sounds Quick Drill and Quick Drill in Reverse, will be practiced. The rest of the lesson will follow the normal procedures for each section.

Sophia voiced that she was tired. She did OK during the lesson and did all that she was asked. Her accuracy when reading long vowel words in the V-C-E pattern is getting better. This is reflected in the results of the Charting section of the lesson.
