Session Date
Lesson Topic
Central message of fables and narrative writing
Lesson Outline
Trenton read two fables in today's session, "The Scorpion and "The Grasshopper and the Ant". After a discussion about the central message of fables, he was able to accurately identify the central message of both passages. He then was able to identify the four characteristics of fables. Next, he began work on a personal narrative writing piece. He reviewed his brainstorm from last session and chose to write about his trip to Texas and a visit to the Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort. Then he created a thinking map graphic organizer with information about his trip. Trenton did a wonderful job today and is anxious to begin drafting his story!
