Lesson Outline
We discussed the ancient Greek mathematicians and their practice of partitioning polygons into other (simpler) shapes as a means of estimating the size of the polygon's area. Then we extended the idea to partitioning the area between a curve of a function and the x-axis into rectangles and using them to give an approximation of the area.
