calendar, Discussed shadows and how they are created. Introduced Groundhog's Day -made groundhog puppets and used them with a lamp to create shadows. Took puppets outside to see if the groundhog would have seen his shadow if he was in Florida today - no because it was cloudy. Looked on Google to see if Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow today - yes he did. Shadow Matching Game worksheet - cut out pictures of hands and the shadows they created and matched them. This was really difficult for Quinn - he just couldn't seem to focus on the shape of the hands even when I helped him put his hand into the same formation. Went into Conference Room and used the projector light and screen to create a shadow puppet show with our groundhogs and then we practiced making the hand shadows from the matching game. 100 Chart - Introduced number 30. Made groups of 30 plastic chains. Divided them to see how many groups of 5 and 10 there are in 30. Wrote 30 thirty times on the board. Listened to the taped folk tale 'Hilga's Dowry' and did comprehension worksheet. Played 'Sight Word Bingo'
