Influence on the Founding Fathers and U.S. Constitution. J Locke Natural Rights included the right to liberty, happiness, and to own property. Rousseau's Social Contract advocated for a 2-way relationship between citizens and their government. Citizens obey laws and serve in the military in exchange for protection and creating opportunities to establish a productive happy life.

During today's important lesson on John Locke and the Natural Rights influence on the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights, PJ followed the concepts clearly and understood the connection between Locke's philosophy of government and the goals of the Founding Fathers in creating the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights.

He is maturing in his approach to his classes by taking consistent organized notes to date and seems to be less distracted/less off-task compared to last year.

Landmark Supreme Court cases will be reviewed to give a perspective on how laws and practices in the U.S. needed to be changed (new Amendments etc) to have laws in line with the intent of the U.S. Constitution.
