Jason worked in the online textbook answering topic review questions to prepare for the upcoming unit assessment on fluently adding within 100. Questions pertained to understanding the strategies for adding two-digit numbers involving breaking numbers apart using place value and joining tens and ones in either order and extending these strategies to adding more than two 2-digit numbers. Then, these strategies were applied to solve one- and two-step problems.
Jason and I did a variety of different physical activities.
We started with a variety of different running games.
We started with a 2-Lap jog on the perimeter of the field.
We came back and did some stretching exercises for the entire period.
We came back to the pavilion and did a cool down.
We were to speak about things that Jason eats and doesn't eat around Thanksgiving time using the phrases, "Yo como" and "Yo no como."
Jason expressed some frustration over his lunch today.
We spoke of things that were more familiar and a little happier for Jason.
We used the phrase "te gusta mas ______ o _____? To ask him about preferences. Sometimes Jason requests more English in the classroom but he did not do that today even though we used a good amount of Spanish. When he did not understand something, he would just ask "what does that mean?"
The answers given during his conversation showed his usual intelligent insight.

Jason was quite upset about not having his lunch today.
Rather than express this in a destructive way, we attempted to express ourselves.
Jason did a good job of this but still had a bit of a meltdown toward the end of class.
While he does have days that are setbacks, I see that he is moving in the correct directions overall week by week.
Using word cards from yesterday, match the halves correctly. Next say what each compound word is and if the meaning matches the two words. Practice writing 5 of the words.
Have examples of compound words split onto separate cards. Read the words and put them together to make the compound words. Tell if the two words are able to give the meaning of the compound word: (snowman, toothbrush, sunset) or not: (carpet, jellyfish, butterfly).
