Jason and I were unable to play basketball outside because of bad weather and opted to play a game of Payday together. While playing, Jason was encouraged to think about good money management, help add bills, and determine the amount of change received from paying bills.
Jason began with the daily review, answering questions on writing the time for shown clocks, writing the missing numbers in number patterns, and recognizing place value. For our lesson, we used a place value house in a protective sleeve and a dry-erase marker to write 2- and 3-digit numbers in their proper place. Jason recognized that each place allowed only 1 digit and applied this to adding 2-digit numbers with regrouping. Jason seemed to understand the concept but pushed back on completing the lesson's problems.
Interactive Calendar Vocabulary Pumpkin Life Cycle Adjectives Fall Sentences
Lesson Outline
Jason completed his interactive calendar. He read his old and new vocabulary words. He watched a science video on the life cycle of a pumpkin and then made a booklet demonstrating the life cycle sequence of a pumpkin. Using his new fall vocabulary words he wrote sentences. He learned about adjectives as he described his pumpkin.
We had some bad weather outside so we stayed inside and did a complete body workout inside.
We did a series of different exercises that worked our entire body.
We finished with a cool down and a complete body stretch.
Jason and I read the text "Respect Everyone" on page 25 in the workbook. He pointed to the title, the photo and the caption. We discussed what a caption is. I asked follow-up questions. He underlined the right that everyone has. He completed the Explore Words and Pictures chart on page 26 where he wrote what he learned from the words and what he learned from the pictures.
