Jason completed the activity "Connect to the EQ" where he wrote a solution to the following problem: 1. Three children want to color in red, but there is only one red crayon. 2. One of your classmates is angry or upset. We discussed what the word respect means. We read the passage "Respect Everyone" on page 24 in the workbook. He circled the words he didn't know and we read them together. He underlined clues that told him what respect means, how we show respect, and what he is thinking about when he shows respect.
Jason completed the daily review with questions on completing number patterns, reading number words, comparing 2-digit numbers, and shape names. Today's lesson focused on the understanding that 2-digit numbers can be broken apart using tens and ones and added in different ways. Jason used this strategy and mental math to solve some of the lesson's problems.
Jason completed his interactive calendar. He read and discussed his vocabulary words. He examined his mini pumpkin and took its measurements. He weighed it, measured how tall it was, he determined if it would sink or float, and measured its circumference. He watered his plants and made notations into his logbooks.
