David and I were able to talk about key points in the video.
Ben recorded the following key terms and definitions into his Developing Your Self-Esteem chapter outline: mental/emotional health, resilient, self-esteem, competence, hierarchy or needs and self-actualization.
Ben created an outline of Lesson 1 Developing Your Self-Esteem. He previewed the textbook lesson, and in his notes wrote the headings, subheadings and key details.
Ben completed question 5 on the Lesson 4 Review: What are some steps you can take to become a health-literate individual? He began the Module 1 Assessment questions.
Ben completed the Lesson 4 Review questions. We discussed why health education is important, what health disparities are, three criteria needed for an individual to make sound health decisions. He analyzed how the US plan called Healthy People helps the US become a healthier country. He thought of steps he can take to become a health-literate individual.
Ben completed creating and reviewing Lesson 4 Promoting Health and Wellness notecards with the following key terms: health education, Healthy People, health disparities, health literacy and self-directed. He interpreted a bar graph showing the USA's childhood obesity percentages of population.
Ben completed the Lesson 3 Review #3-5: 3. How might changes in lifestyle factors influence your health in positive ways? 4. How might monitoring risk behaviors affect the well-being of teens? 5. Consider a risk behavior teens are exposed to, and predict how lifestyle factors can positively influence teens to avoid that risk. He created notecards for the lesson 4 vocabulary: health education, Healthy People, health disparities, health literacy, and self-directed.
Ben reviewed health risk behaviors. He completed the Health Risks cluster chart. We read about peer pressure and abstinence. He completed the Real World Connection "Teen Risk Taking" exercise on page 14.
