S: Noah was seen at the Batt School for treatment. He was eager to work with SLP for all of the session. O: Noah was first asked to label categories when given 3 items within the category and a field of 3 category answer choices. He completed the activity with 50% accuracy. Noah then asked to answer basic “when” questions in a field of 2 visual answer choices. He completed the activity with 87% accuracy. After, Noah was asked to identify the superlative (e.g. big, bigger, biggest) in a field of 3 visual answer choices. He completed the activity with 70% accuracy. After, Noah was asked to identify which image displayed “more” and “less” in a field of 2 visual answer choices. He completed the activity with 70% accuracy. Lastly, he was asked mixed “wh” questions about a picture scene. He answered the questions posed with 75% accuracy. A: Increases displayed across goals. Difficulties with answering “when” questions about picture scenes provided. P: Continue POC.
Today Joshua and I took notes on 2.14 Logarithmic Function Context and Data Modeling. We used some videos from the Flipped Math website to help us walk through some of the steps on the calculator. We discussed how to determine if a given table represents a logarithmic function (or another polynomial). Then we used our calculators to help us find a regression model which we used to then make predictions. We did not finish the lesson so we will resume tomorrow.
Christopher wrote his spelling words in his journal and highlighted letters to remember. We read The Watsons Go to Birmingham and discussed it. Christopher started typing a new script.

Lesson Comments
Chris is catching a cold and didn't feel well. I was happy that he was willing to type his script even though he didn't feel like reading or writing in his journal.
Kellan wrote his spelling words in his journal and highlighted letters to remember. He wrote about the setting of The Watsons Go to Birmingham. We read the book and discussed it.
Richard used rubber stamps to practice spelling words (yolk, folk, bye, eye) and words ending with ch, sh, and s adding the es suffix. He read books with words he can read.
Today we spent the first 10 minutes of class gathering the notes serving as his review. We are almost done gathering his past material notes and we will be caught up (maybe 1-2 more days?). Next, we moved onto 5.2 which was a word problem application of the two step equations. The problems we covered require a higher order thinking level and I think Aiden did a great job of dissecting the word problems. Together we took notes on scenarios that had Aiden set up an equation to a total, and then use his equation to solve for the variable (in two steps). We reviewed that to isolate a variable, we apply inverse operations to both sides of the equation. Aiden has some previous experience with this so he was confident as he worked. We will continue with this tomorrow.
