Finished standardized testing today using the Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency, 2nd Edition. Luke seen in his room for a 45-minute treatment session. Finished standardized testing today using the Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency, 2nd Edition. It is intended for use by practitioners and researchers as a discriminative and evaluative measure to characterize motor performance, specifically in the areas of fine manual control, manual coordination, body coordination, and strength and agility. Luke participated well and was able to complete all tasks presented. Luke was also asked to write a sentence that had every letter of the alphabet. He has a few mistakes which were - not placing the letter "j" under the writing line, making the letter "O" counter clockwise versus clockwise. He needs cues to space better between words. Otherwise his handwriting looks functional/good and he did a great job today with staying on task. Test results to follow.
Assignment
Continue to practice writing sentences over the summer.

Libby was seen in an office for a 45-minute treatment session with focus of session on improving her fine motor skills especially in the area of grasp patterns, ocular motor skills (saccades), self care skills, handwriting, as well as improving her flexibility for wearing different clothing and wearing her hair different ways. Began session with game to work on manipulation and dexterity with moving/translating small object in and out of hand to and from fingertips. We reviewed all previously learned letters which included capitals "A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J". Libby was able to successfully identify all except letters J and H today. Went over the next five capitals in the alphabet which included letters "K. L, M, N, and O". She was unable to identify K today but we made sparkle letter index cards which she will be able to take home for practice over the summer. Libby wore shorts today for the first time to school. OT and all the teachers told her how proud they are of her and seeing her wearing different things. Great session.
Assignment
Continue to practice the capital letters for recognition.

Today we looked up his SAT score of 1380 and looked at the breakdown of the subject areas and his performance. We saw that he got 7/8 in every single math topic, so that informed us that we will still focus on all topics but the challenging topics within each. We pulled problems from his practice book. We covered a few topics on various subjects involving Algebra.

Mixed Properties
Lesson Outline
Ben said he had a stomach ache this morning. I encouraged him to push past it and work with me. He did but was distracted. We worked on exponent properties, a concept we've spent a lot of time on. I gave him an activity with basic problems to see if he could recall the properties. He struggled a bit, but with help was able to use what he learned from one problem to simplify the next. I wrote out the rules again so he could see why we add powers when multiplying and multiply powers when we have a power raised to a power.
