Bobby was provided a list of topic choices for an expository essay. He chose to write an essay about his father as his role model. He worked diligently to handwrite a page long essay during our half hour. He seemed proud of his work product as he handed it to me at the end of class. After reading it, I was very glad to see the heartwarming feelings he had for his father and enjoyed seeing his pride in his father.
The focus of today's lesson was to review and critique writing samples. Bobby was to discuss with the instructor the criteria for grading each of the writing samples he was given.
