Bobby would have explored topics for a creative writing project.

This afternoon we continued to discuss the differences between natural selection and evolution. We also compared natural selection and artificial selection as well as hybridization and cross breeding. Homework is read pages 209 - 215 #'s 1-6 & 8.

I introduced spelling words. We defined the words, used them in sentences, and identified parts of speech. Bobby previewed the story, "Tell Tale Heart" by Poe. He predicted the plot. Bobby should practice spelling words for homework. Quiz is Thursday.

This afternoon Bobby and I examined two distinctive periods in the development of Indian culture- the Gupta and Maurya periods. The Gupta period in particular was known for the construction of elaborate temples which were adorned with both Buddhist and Hindu scriptures. Homework is to read pages 266-271 and complete #'s 1-3.

We finished watching the video outlining the study by Anderson Cooper on the effects of social media on teens. Bobby and I discussed the content of his notes and I shared with him several key topics that we will be exploring in greater detail. Bobby will be writing an expository essay using one of these topics as his theme or subject. He will be given several topic choices from which to select.

This morning we continue to practice solving expressions with multiple fractions in both composite and simple forms. Many of these expressions use different operations which require converting the fractions to a common denominator. Good practice. Homework is to complete 33-35, 38-41 and 42-45 on page 252.

Hour 1
Bobby will complete the fourth page of his website, the custom shop.
Bobby will add images that reflect what his custom shop can produce, he will add a description of the service along with pricing, and lastly add a contact form.
Bobby will link the new page to the home page.
Hour 2
Bobby and I will be watching the Image Revolution. This is a video based on the seven original creators of Image Comics. This will show how they used their passions to create a new revolution in their industry. We will complete the video and discuss its relevance.

Bobby adds a few electrical lights and switches to rooms. He also neatly letters appropriate information on all drawings. We then watch a video of what an architect's career entails. Great session.

This afternoon we continued our study of ancient India and the rise of various religions such as Buddhism, Islam and Hinduism. Homework is to read the next section and answer the section review questions.

This afternoon Bobby and I examined the work of Charles Darwin and his many contributions to the study of natural selection, speciation and adaptation. We learned that those animals that are able to adapt to changes in their environment stand a better chance of survival. We reviewed the homework from the previous night before moving forward.
