Bobby read two nonfiction selections on readtheory.org. He completed the comprehension questions which required him to use stated details and inferring skills.
Bobby polished his research paper. He replaced pronouns and made his writing more specific. He sited studies and sources to support his claims. He corrected run-on sentences. The five paragraph research paper is complete.
Bobby will be finishing his service page of his website. He will make sure that all verbal content is edited and in place, all remaining images are placed, and all links are placed and functional.
This afternoon we continued our review of dividing composite fractions. We practiced the problems on page 251 which had been assigned for homework. Bobby continues to have difficulty retaining information from class when he attempts to complete the homework at home. Homework is to complete #'s 24-27 on page 251 and 30-33 on page 252.
This afternoon we wrapped up our study of the Kush and the decline of the Egyptian and Kush empires. We began to lay the groundwork for our venture into India and ancient China as well as a comparative study of Hinduism and Buddhism.
This afternoon Bobby and I are continuing our exploration of genetics and what the RNA's role is in the synthesis of protein. We learned that there are three types of RNA that serve to carry the chemical instructions to the ribosomes, provide materials to the ribosome and help to read the chemical formula in preparation for the synthesis of protein.
Bobby viewed a UTube video on figurative language. The video uses modern music to give examples of similes, metaphors, and personification. We continued the lesson using the poem "The Women's 400 Meters" by Lillian Morrison. Bobby found similes and metaphors in the poem and interpreted their meanings. After warm-up and stretch, Bobby did bench presses, seated cable rows, leg curls, dips, 21s, decline push ups, hanging knee rises, TRX inverted rows, battle ropes, cool down and stretch.
