This morning we continued our study of how to divide fractions with as little bloodshed as possible. We began the practice problems on page 251 whereby Bobby will complete the remainder of the problems for homework tonight. He is still experiencing some confusion as to which part of the expression is the reciprocal. Homework is to complete 11-14 and 16-19 on page 251.
This afternoon we continued our exploration of ancient India by learning about Hinduism and how the topography of the country influenced the form of government and communication amongst townships.
Bobby watched a YouTube video on poetic devices in music lyrics. We listened to "Sounds of Silence," by Disturbia. Bobby used google to search for the lyrics and printed a hard copy. He identified similes and examples of personification in the lyrics and interpreted their meanings. For homework, Bobby should find a song online and print the lyrics. He should identify two examples of poetic devices in the lyrics and interpret their meanings.
This afternoon Bobby and I paid a visit to the new school to check on the progress of the preying mantis egg casing. Much to our surprise, at least one of the egg casings had hatched and a number of the mantids were out. We couldn't help but notice that a number of the mantids had died more than likely from a lack of water. We misted the paper towel located on the top of the cage with the hope that babies will find it. We will be returning on Monday to check on their progress.
Bobby and I will work on creating a home page for his website. The elements that we will be focusing on will be a slider, verbal content, and image placement.
We will work on the Resale service page of his website. Bobby will use some of the skills that he used in creating the home page and apply them to the services page. Bobby will create descriptions for all of the products, such as pricing, color, and brand.
Once the services page has been created Bobby will link the new services page to the home page.

This morning we continued our study of manipulating fractions by learning how to divide fractions. We also learned how to identify the reciprocal of a fraction in order to multiply and then solve. We practiced a number of problems in the section review. Homework will be to solve 8 problems on page 248.
This morning we practiced our note taking skills while confronting a very controversial issue involving social media. Bobby and I watched a CNN special hosted by Anderson Cooper outlining the effects of social media on a large group of teenagers. Bobby practiced how to capture key points in this thought provoking special.
