Discuss, review, and analyze the questions from Ben's homework assignment which needed to be answered. Introduce work and potential energy. Show that work involves a force moving a mass in the direction of the force. Define gravitational potential energy. Discuss electrical potential energy as work done to move a charged particle within an electric field. Discuss how the electrical PE is increased by increasing the work done to move the charge.

Ben was quite able to answer the homework questions from this week as they were being discussed in class. He sometimes can just be lazy, but is capable of answering the questions
Define work as it applies to physics. Discuss a force is needed to move an object in the direction of the force. Introduce potential energy of location as gravitational potential energy. Determine that the force needed is equal to the mass times the gravitational constant. Elicit that as the mass increases, the gravitational PE increases. Discuss how a charged object can have a potential energy by virtue of its location in an electric field. Determine that when you push a single charge against an electric field, work is done and the electrical PE is increased
7-2 Understand Theoretical Probability – We learned about events and theoretical probability and how it can be used. Then we used theoretical probability to predict an outcome. We learned that the theoretical probability of an event is the number of favorable outcomes divided by the number of possible outcomes when all outcomes are equally likely.

7-1 Understand Likelihood and Probability – We learned about outcomes and to use probability to describe the likelihood that an event will occur. Then we related probability to mathematical fairness. We learned that probability can be described using a ratio such as 1 out of 2. Next, we discovered that the closer the ratio is to zero the less likely it is to occur. The closer the value is to 1 the more likely the event will occur.

We read a book about dinosaurs and discussed plants and flowers in the wild. Alexandra loved the story and was eager to start the bee and flower craft project.
She colored in the stem and leaves green. Then, she colored the bee yellow. She had trouble with cutting, so I cut out the shapes for her. Lastly, she glued the pieces onto a piece of paper and created the bee and flower craft project.
Since we had a fire drill today, I read a few books regarding fire drills and the rules that go along with them. Libby enjoyed pointing out the stickers that were placed over certain words throughout the stories. Then, we discussed red/rojo and that fires are red, as well as fire trucks and fire hats. Lastly, Libby began creating a red/rojo mosaic of a heart.
We discussed that rojo is Spanish for red. We read a few books about fire drills since we had one today. We explored the fact that fire is red/rojo and some of the rules to follow during a fire drill. Then, we cut out red construction paper and created a red/rojo mosaic.
Today, I introduced Nico to 4 different quarterback drills.
The first drill was a box test which measures agility.
The next drill was a backup drill that measures agility and speed.
We then some sideways running and we finished with Karioke running.
