Sophie went home just as our session was starting.

Sophie says she's getting too much attention and that tests under direct observation are uncomfortable. Just thought I'd mention that as she seems a bit uncomfortable with the one-on-one tutoring. As far as out session time goes, I'm trying to relate our computer tutoring to her other classes or to her hobby/leisure interests. The academic connections are not obvious, but her interest in photo lets us focus on that for the time being.

Sophie did a great job today. She was able to do all of the work. We worked on the menu and she finished it early. she was able to create her own sentences as well as fill in the blank worksheet with the verbs.

Good session. Sophie was on task and focused.

Sophie has some problems organizing her essay. We reviewed 5 paragraph essay strucutre and applied her essay topic to the outline.

Good session. Sophie seems to have a good handle on how to write her essay.

Sophie did an amazing job today. She reviewed for her quiz, took it (earn 100%), defined new word list, made index cards, did a verb review and worksheet and completed her homework 2 wkbk pages all in 50 minutes. She did an excellent job today. I complimented her on her productivity.

Sophie was absent.

Sophie struggled with last night's homework. She made some minor errors and had issues with fractions. To help build her confidence, I assigned some "easier" problems today in class and taught her the basics of the elimination method, which most students consider to be easier.

Sophie interacted well, participated, and was good natured and joked quite a bit. She was able to construct specific search strings that focused results on her history and english essay topics and improved her academic search skills.
