As a substitute for PJ's Spanish 1 class today, I presented him with an informational video relating to the Spanish discovery/settlement of Florida in the 1500's and the exploration of Ponce de Leon.
We reviewed the Spanish textbook Introduction and Chapter 1 and discussed and practiced the following: cognates, greetings and saying goodbye to people, counting in Spanish to 100, double digit numbers, months of the year, days of the week, and vocabulary flash cards. We listened to the Spanish pronunciations of the cognates and the words on the flashcards and practiced speaking the words correctly.
Kaitlin and I discussed the missing grades that she has. We talked about -go verbs, checked verb comprehension, and worked on her paragraphs (specifically having her practice writing them in testing conditions).
