Cam was scheduled for a practice test today.
Against my advisement, he decided to take his actual test and forgo the practice for this chapter.
I had Dr. Mary witness this decision as it could lead to him having to redo parts of the class next year or over the summer.
On the part of the test that he has taken so far of that test he has a 69% with generous reminders of test taking strategies and the like from the teacher.
David and I created the 6 cards that he did not get to create yesterday. He then went through 30 of his prior cards as a review. He was able to name 24 out of 30 cards accurately (about 80%.
Great job David.
David was especially distracted today. This week has been one of the first times in our class that he has been in danger of missing out on a serious amount of participation points. We discussed this and what he can do in the future.
Ben and I spent the first portion of our class reviewing the verb ser and all of our vocabulary cards from the last chapter.
We are reviewing these because as we have been doing the readings for this chapter and encounter the words from last chapter, he does seem to comprehend those words in context.
Examples include words like escuela, alumno, etc. He was able to pair them with their English meaning by the time we moved onto this chapter but now does not recognize them.
We discussed the cumulative nature of studying languages and how we are now using Spanish to learn more Spanish.
