I had Ben tell me about himself and his future plans for education. Then, we dove into the vocabulary for lesson 1 focusing on place names. After that, we tackled the vocabulary for lesson 2 focusing on people names. I spoke the words and had him repeat them after me. Then, we discussed what the meaning of each word was and focused on male and female endings. Lastly, we discussed his current classes and his plan for the next year and a half.

Lesson Comments
Ben and I had a nice conversation. He was eager to learn the new vocabulary words.
Teddy looked at a book with many types of vehicles including a number of trucks. We pointed out the tow truck. He practiced saying tow truck in Spanish. We then watched a short video that says the names of the trucks and shows them. As he watched the video, we would pause the video and he would go through and find the picture of each type of vehicle in the book that we looked at and we would say the name of the vehicle in Spanish several times. We found one of the trucks from the book on his classroom blanket. We then drew two of the types of vehicles.
Kaitlin was given the chart of more literal translations for pronouns that are used with verbs like gustar. She then worked on reviewing for the test that she has this week.
We took a new approach to alphabet and watched a video with an alphabet song. Ben practiced saying the alphabet with his pronunciation guide. He did well on his practice today but does have a little room for improvement.
I asked Ben some questions in Spanish requiring him to tell the time or respond about the weather.
We pointed out unique words from our chapter on the family. We read about Federico and his his sister. We read about an Equatorian family. We reviewed the verb tener.
We spoke about the possessive adjectives of Spanish.
