Through process of elimination, Ayden was able to correctly identify 8 English sentences to their corresponding Hebrew transliteration. Question words were introduced. I have asked Ayden to put flash cards into two piles - one with words he knows 100%, and the other pile of words that still need review. He is retaining words from prior Lesson.

Textbook - read story in chapter 1
Lesson Outline
Today Ayden began reading the story in Chapter 1, one sentence at a time. First he spelled each word using Hebrew letters. Then he sounded out the letters to read each word. At the end of the sentence, he reread the sentence, translated it, then wrote the translation into his notebook. Ayden found words that were repeated from one sentence to another - this helped with reading and translating. Ayden will read these sentences to his dad over the weekend.

Today Ayden began reading the story in Chapter 1, one sentence at a time. First he spelled each word using Hebrew letters. Then he sounded out the letters to read each word. At the end of the sentence, he reread the sentence, translated it, then wrote the translation into his notebook. Ayden found words that were repeated from one sentence to another - this helped with reading and translating. Ayden will read these sentences to his dad over the weekend. Reading is the most difficult activity for Ayden. However, he kept at it and did well. I helped greatly with sounding out the words. Because he is familiar with Hebrew, once he heard me begin to sound out the word, he was able to complete it.

Today's Hebrew Podcast centered on family. Ayden repeated the words, phrases and sentences after the native speaker. We stopped the podcast every 3-4 minutes and copied the new vocabulary word. Ayden identified the spelling, using the Hebrew alphabet, and translated the words. He copied the new vocabulary into his notebook.

Using the textbook, Ayden read the personal pronouns at the bottom of page 34. He read the singular, plural, and masculine. He then opened his whiteboard, wrote and spelled each pronoun. When complete we went to page 37 in the text and did exercise A. Ayden read the pronouns and began writing the opposite as directed in the exercise. For each feminine, he wrote the masculine and vice versa. For each singular he wrote the plural. We will complete this exercise tomorrow.
