Through process of elimination, Ayden was able to correctly identify 8 English sentences to their corresponding Hebrew transliteration. Question words were introduced. I have asked Ayden to put flash cards into two piles - one with words he knows 100%, and the other pile of words that still need review. He is retaining words from prior Lesson.

Today Ayden began reading the story in Chapter 1, one sentence at a time. First he spelled each word using Hebrew letters. Then he sounded out the letters to read each word. At the end of the sentence, he reread the sentence, translated it, then wrote the translation into his notebook. Ayden found words that were repeated from one sentence to another - this helped with reading and translating. Ayden will read these sentences to his dad over the weekend. Reading is the most difficult activity for Ayden. However, he kept at it and did well. I helped greatly with sounding out the words. Because he is familiar with Hebrew, once he heard me begin to sound out the word, he was able to complete it.

Today's Hebrew Podcast centered on family. Ayden repeated the words, phrases and sentences after the native speaker. We stopped the podcast every 3-4 minutes and copied the new vocabulary word. Ayden identified the spelling, using the Hebrew alphabet, and translated the words. He copied the new vocabulary into his notebook.

Today we worked from pages 20, 21, and 25 of the textbook. Ayden read sentences from each of the pages then translated. I asked him to spell the new vocabulary words using the Hebrew alphabet. As we completed each of the pages, Ayden copied the new vocabulary words into his notebook. When complete he read what he had written from his notebook.

Ayden shared his screen as we watched and he repeated the words, phrases and sentences of a native speaker. He also identified the words in the sentences. In each sentences, Ayden spelled the new vocabulary words, using the Hebrew alphabet. We first went through lesson 7A then lesson 7. At the end of lesson 7 he played the flash card game. He did well.

Using the textbook, Ayden read the personal pronouns at the bottom of page 34. He read the singular, plural, masculine and plural. He then opened his whiteboard, wrote and spelled each pronoun. When complete we went to page 37 in the text and did exercise A. Ayden read the pronouns and began writing the opposite as directed in the exercise. For each feminine, he wrote the masculine and vice versa. For each singular he wrote the plural. We will complete this exercise tomorrow.

Ayden began with a review of months of the year and days of the week. He read them in Hebrew and then wrote them in Hebrew script. Ayden then wrote out all the new vocabulary for food items which was learned this week in Hebrew Podcast. Ayden then read all the food items. Ayden read phrases in the textbook regarding food items. He did a great job. Ayden has a beautiful Hebrew accent.

Ayden was absent

Ayden listened to a native speaker introduce the meals and the food for each meal. As the individual words ere said, he repeated them. He also repeated the short phrases. Ayden identified letters in the words when we stopped the podcast. Ayden was able to pick out vocabulary as I asked him for the words.

Ayden read off all the personal pronouns. He then spelled them in Hebrew and identified the singular and plural, masculine and feminine. This was followed by his writing out the Hebrew script for each pronoun. Ayden read short phrases the last 10 minutes of our session. He identified the Hebrew letters and vowels very well.
