Gracyn reviewed and wrote her new spelling words. She completed her morning worksheet and then wrote a beautiful 1st grade quality sentence "I had fun shopping for shoes with my mom." We are starting a unit on the ocean today. We completed a KWL chart together on the ocean. Then we watched a video on animals that live in the ocean. We completed the first sheet on fish. It was super cute! She had to choose a fish and decide where she would live and how much she would swim. She also read a story in Raz Kids level E today. She is doing really well with her reading!
Today I read Arianna another Pinnkalicious story, The Pinkalicious Christmas. She loves this series of books. Then she read me a story about green things in Raz Kids. She drew me a picture of something green and labeled it from her favorite part of the story. We watched our counting video songs and our songs on the calendar together. We ended our time dancing to Go Noodle videos!
Today Gracyn took her spelling test and she got a 100%! She was so proud of herself. I read her the story "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" and then she completed a listening response sheet. We completed her morning work as well. She had another ABC order activity. She knew that she had to write the alphabet out and then underline the first letter of the words. She was able to identify which words go in order. In Science we reviewed the life cycle of the Butterfly. This time we were able to draw the life cycle ourselves. She read me a level D story in Raz Kids about animals. We ended our time watching the Magic School Bus video on plant growth.
Arianna and I read three stories today. We read a Pinkalicious Book, "Ten Little Princesses", and "Barbie and the Halloween Adventure". Then she read me a story about bugs. She drew a picture of a beautiful ladybug and labeled it. Then she and I watched a video on ladybugs. She was surprised to see that they have different colored spots. It was cute! Then we of course watched our math counting songs and Go Noodle!
Gracyn completed her morning work and writing. Today she wrote that her favorite food her mom makes her is tacos! Yum! Gracyn then completed a fun adjective/noun worksheet. She had to pick one adjective and place it with a noun. It was silly! We wrote "hungry teacher, quiet fish, and tall man." It was a lot of fun. She completed another ABC order worksheet. She wrote out the alphabet first and then was able to order the words in the right order. In reading she read the Raz Kids level E book about The Rodeo.
Arianna and I read Pinkalicious and the Butterfly today. It was a really sweet story. Arianna enjoyed predicting what color the butterfly would be...of course pink! Next Arianna read a story in Raz Kids about the number five to me. Then she drew five fish and labeled her picture. In math we watched counting to 10, counting to 100, and months of the year songs. We ended our time dancing to Go Noodle videos.
Gracyn and I completed a life cycle of a butterfly book together. Her prior knowledge came into play here. She was able to fill in the information without any clues from me! We colored the pictures and she shared it with her mom. We watched a Magic School Bus film on butterflies. Then in Raz Kids she read me a level E story about Caring for the Earth. She read beautifully!
Today Gracyn and I started her morning reading Pinkalicious stories while she ate her breakfast. We read one story about a butterfly. Perfect for our science lesson and her field trip to the butterfly museum later today with her mom! She completed her morning work and wrote about her favorite dessert...wedding cake!
Today Arianna and I read Pinkalicious Goes to the Zoo. It was a sweet story about a silly monkey that takes Pinkalicious's favorite teddy bear. After, Arianna read me 4 books in Raz Kids. She enjoyed reading them. After, she drew a picture of her favorite holiday. Christmas of course! In math we counted to 100 by 1s with a fun Zero the Hero video. She loves this song! She had a great day today!
