Review all the concepts learned in Chapter 14 of the first grade math book. Take chapter 14 test on measurement.
Read a story- "Math Curse" by Jon Scieszka.

Math Skype lesson. Student has a copy of the 1st grade math book so she can work together with teacher on Skype lessons. Unit 14 of the 1st grade book measurement. Lesson 14-longest and shortest - looking at groups of three pictures decide which is the longest of the group and which is the shortest. Looking at groups of three pictures - place them in order of which one weighs the most and the least.

Today in writing Gracyn had to think of a topic and then write three sentences to describe and support her topic. I modeled the paragraph first with talking about why I love the beach. Gracyn's paragraph was about her mom. She wrote that she loves her mom because she is pretty, she is amazing, and because she takes care of her. She used the words first, next, and last to begin each describing sentence. In Bible we learned about Joseph. He was faithful to God and even though his brothers sold him because they were jealous, God was with Joseph and used him. In Science we watched a movie about different types of butterflies. We are enjoying our unit of butterflies this week!

Gracyn began her day by writing her spelling words. We completed her morning work and she wrote about her daddy. We completed a fun word puzzle that had words that described spring. We reviewed what a noun and an adjective is and she had read words and put them in the right category as a noun or adjective. In reading she read a book in Raz Kids and answered the comprehension questions correctly.

Today Gracyn learned the difference between an analog clock and a digital clock. She was able to draw the hands on a analog clock and then write the same time on a digital clock.

Arianna and I read "The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs". She loved this story! Next we went into raz kids and she read a level 3 story on fall. Her favorite part was learning about apples. She colored a bright and beautiful red apple picture. In math we watched a clip on counting on. The little girl used cards and trucks to demonstrate how to count on. We ended our fun session watching her favorite Go Noodle video "Roller Coaster".

Today Gracyn reviewed her spelling words. She wrote them one time each. Then we completed her morning work together. We read several fun stories today including "The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs". It was a silly version of the story told from the Wolf's perspective. Next we learned about verbs. Gracyn had to read various words on cute snail pictures and color the words that were verbs. She did great and enjoyed this. She took her time coloring the snails beautifully. Next we continued her lesson on the life cycle of a butterfly. She had to color pictures and then cut and place them in order of the cycle. We used words "first, next, then, last, and finally" to describe the pictures. We read a Raz Kids level D story on butterflies. We ended the last few minutes watching her favorite Bible video, Noah's Ark.

Today Gracyn worked on telling time. We went over how long it takes to do certain activities. She learned that the hour hand is shorter then the minute hand. Gracyn was able to write the time that she saw on a clock. She was also able to draw the hour and minute hand on a clock.

Today Arianna and I skyped. First I read aloud two silly stories. One was about a naughty duck and other was about a snowman that became a boy's friend. Next we watched some videos on the calendar and sight words. In science we learned about the life cycle of the butterfly. We watched a video that showed how a caterpillar turns into a beautiful butterfly. In reading she read me a Raz Kids level A book on a birthday party. She had to draw a picture of her favorite thing about a birthday party. Of course she drew a picture of a birthday gift! She was so excited about all that she learned today that she wanted her mom to hear. We told mom all about the butterfly and the story she read!

Today Gracyn wrote her new spelling words one time each. We completed her morning work and in writing she wrote two complete sentences about her fun play date with her friend Lexi. In Language Arts we learned about synonyms. Gracyn had to match synonyms together. In reading I read her a paragraph about spring. She then had to answer comprehension questions about the story. Her listening skills were right on and she got the questions all correct. In Bible Gracyn watched the movie about The Good Samaritan. In reading she read me two Raz Kid Level D stories and answered the comprehension questions at the end.
