Gracyn took her spelling test today!!! The only word that was a challenge was the word "her". In all fairness, it was a new word that we had not used before in our sight word learning. I assisted her in sounding the word out and she got it correct! Another 100%! Next in writing she had to write about her favorite food. She picked steak and macaroni and cheese. We read Dr. Seuss's "Oh the Places You Will Go" and then created a hot air balloon. She wrote what she wanted to be when she grows up (a doctor or a teacher) and we added it to the balloon. In science we talked about the water cycle. We spent some time in Reading Eggs. She finally got her certificate for level 4! We also played a few fun Dr Seuss games. It was a great fun Friday!

Gracyn and I reviewed her spelling words. Today she had to draw pictures to represent the spelling words. I sent home the word list to study with tonight. In writing she had to complete the sentence "When I grow up..." She said she would like to be a teacher! She wrote the sentence and drew a picture. We went to the art room and painted bow tie pasta to look like butterflies. She loves butterflies! We ended our time doing Reading Eggs in the computer room. She is so close to completing level 4!

Arianna and I continued learning about time. Today we talked about what time of day we do things. We used a clock and pointed to the hours as we talked about what she does in a day. She first wakes up, gets dressed, and eats breakfast (pointing at 7-8). She comes to school (pointing at 9), etc. Then I asked her questions on what she does at different times using her work page. We did this together and she did great!

Today we reviewed her spelling words. In writing she wrote, "Today is Dr. Seuss's birthday. He wrote Green Eggs and Ham." She had to fill in her choice of book that he wrote and of course she picked Green Eggs and Ham. In Bible we read Psalms 100:5. She drew a heart to show how God will love us forever and ever! We went to the computer lab and explored Seussville.com. It was fun playing games with various characters from the books we have read!
