Arianna and I explored the clock today. We looked at a real clock and observed the numbers, the little hand, the big hand, and the hand that ticks around counting seconds. We then filled in missing numbers on a clock in her workbook. Next she had to identify what time it was by looking to see where the little hand was pointing. We read some stories on Raz Kids.
Arianna and I read "Hop on Pop" and "Green Eggs and Ham" by Dr. Seuss. It was a lot of fun guessing the rhyming words. We explored the would of Dr. Seuss on www.seussville.com. We played games and watched videos. The best was when she recognized characters from stories we had read together!
Gracyn wrote her spelling words. Then she wrote "My mom likes to run." We also did a fun rhyming Dr. Seuss worksheet. Today we read Hop On Pop. We took turns reading the story. She knew a lot of the words from her word families! It was fun reading rhyming words! We finished our time doing reading eggs! She is getting so close to finishing level 40!
Arianna and I talked about Day and Night and things we do during those times. We had to sequence pictures using the terms morning, afternoon, and evening. The last activity was sequencing pictures according to what came first, second, and last. She did great! We spent time in the computer lab doing Reading Eggs and Brain Pop Junior!
Gracyn and I reviewed her new spelling words. They are baby, call, did, door, end, full, got, her, into, zoo, and the bonus word birthday. She wrote her spelling words. In writing she wrote about the worst food! She wanted to google gross foods to get ideas. She decided earthworms are the worst food! In science we planted flowers with Arianna. The girls enjoyed using shovels to plant the seeds. Next we did Reading Eggs on the computer. She is trying very hard to complete this level and get a certificate! We ended the day reading Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. We did a story map after reading it. Gracyn pointed out the rhyming words throughout the story!
