Gracyn and I began our day reviewing her sight words. Today we reviewed the sight word "when." Gracyn colored the word, traced the word, and she used the word in a few puzzles. Next, we reviewed the "sp" sound. She identified words that begin with the "sp" sound and words that do not. In reading we are reading "More Baby Animals". We first did a book walk. Then we did a word walk and wrote challenging words on post its. Then it was time to read. She did great. The word "called" was challenging, but by the middle of the book she had it! She realized this and said how proud she was! We went to the art room and made welcome back signs for Baylie and Morgan! She is so excited that they are coming tomorrow!
Today Gracyn and I looked at her new sight words. They are "when, were, said, we, and your." Today we focused on the sight word "were." Gracyn wrote the word, colored the word, and did a few puzzles with the word. Next I introduced her to the letter blend "sp" we brainstormed words that begin in the "sp" sound and wrote them on the board. In writing she has to write what Love is to her. She wrote, "Love is God." We put the heart in her writing folder. She really wanted to make her parents valentines so we went to the art room and made them valentines. We also picked out her two new books to read to me and printed them.
Math review of previous lesson. Gracyn is working on two digit numbers and expanding them into groups of tens and ones. Lesson 11.6 continue on the concept of different ways to make a number using tens and ones. Show how to make these numbers using cubes for ones and ten rods for tens. Math centers- addition and subtraction
Math review of previous lesson. Gracyn is working on two digit numbers and expanding them into groups of tens and ones. Lesson 11.5 Different ways to make a number. 24 is 2 tens and 4 ones / or 24 is 1 ten and 14 ones. Practice this concept using quick pictures making 10 rods and one cubes.
Arianna is away for a couple of weeks. I packet was sent with her that she will be working on. Level books, comprehension worksheets and skill lessons are all part of the work that was sent. A social studies weekly studies lesson was also sent and Arianna will be using Reading eggs and ABC mouse as supplements.

Next we concluded our lessons with the "st" sound. In writing we created "Gracyn's Book of Greatness". We printed pictures of her favorite things : steak, zebras, gymnastics, yoga, and sunsets and then placed them in a book. She wrote sentences about her favorite things and we shared them with her friends.
