Math lesson 12-1 from the 1st grade math book. Using a two digit number show 1 more, 1 less, 10 more and 10 less. Explain this concept using pictures, number chart and place value counters such as ten rods, and ones cubes.

Gracyn and I focused on the word "said" today. I also introduced her to next week's spelling words. We talked about what a spelling word is and what will be expected of her. To start we will just have 5 words. The following weeks she will have 10-15. In writing we wrote about "What Do you Love?" We first did a word cluster about all of the things that Gracyn loves. This included chocolate, her family, horses, snow, and steak! Then we filled out the worksheet. We colored it and printed out a picture of Gracyn. We placed them in an envelope to give to her parents for Valentines Day. We then finished the day filling out and coloring Valentines for friends and teachers at school.
Gracyn and I continued out time together. We went over various forms of punctuation. She had to read a sentence and decide if a question mark, period, or explanation point was needed. Next, she read me "More Baby Animals". She read this story with much better fluency and rate today!
Today Gracyn and I learned the sight word "your".She read the word, colored the word, and did a few puzzles with the word "your". Next we colored a sight word picture with the words we have learned over the last few weeks: "all, when, were, said, and your".
