Great playing today. Devin is a great drummer. He needs to relax a little more and trust himself. When he overthinks his playing he makes more mistakes. When he just plays and reacts to what he sees on the written chart or what he hears in the music, he plays much better.
We went through the steps to connection: establishing trust, giving positive feedback and posing for men and women. Also planning your shoot beforehand.

We had a symbolism extravaganza in class today. We discussed all the possible symbols in The Man to Send Rain Cluds and THe REd conertible. Students brainstormed and went a little crazy. Devin and Ashley surprised me with the depth and scope of their comments. Sadie sat a little more on the sidelines at first but then she jumped in.

The students did well. I am certain that Ashley surprised herself.
Began class with a review of regular -ar, -er, and -ir verbs in the imperfect tense by placing several questions on the board in the imperfect tenses as well as the present tense. I had Devin identify which one is imperfect and which one is present. Then he answered them accordingly, in the correct tense. Then we reviewed all his verb conjugations in the imperfect tense by creating a chart on the board for -ar, -er, -ir verbs and the irregular verbs "ir" and "ver."
