Paralyzer by Finger 11 - playing through the intro; accenting upbeats on the hi-hat., coordination exercises and hi hat opens/closes.
Lesson Outline
Devin played through the intro to Paralyzer both solo and with the recorded track. We spent a good deal of time working on the Verse 1 groove, concentrating on the accented hi-hat pattern. We picked up where we left off a few weeks ago in the Realistic Rock book and worked on some hi-hat rhythms. We worked on some hand/foot coordination exercises.
Assignment
Practice playing the portion of Paralyzer that we have already transcribed along with the recorded track, work on the hi-hat accents; practice the hi-hat rhythms from the Realistic Rock book, and practice the coordination exercises.

Lesson Comments
Devin is playing the intro to Paralyzer very well. The groove for verse 1 that incorporates the accents on the "ands" of the beats is challenging his coordination quite a bit. We are working on improving his coordination and control.
