Sophia was somewhat distracted today, apparently over a dispute at home. Toward the end of the session, she calmed down enough to concentrate. She does know the material.
Sophia was interested in the women's fashion, hair, and beauty for the historical setting of the book, so we discussed the cultural and social norms for women of the time.
Today consisted of a problem drill where we used either the Pythagorean Theorem or the Special Right Triangles shortcuts to find missing sides of right triangles.
