Jackson took several online grammar quizzes that reviewed nouns, proper nouns, adjectives, and adverbs. Quizzes are specifically for seventh graders and include cumulative review as well.
Jackson draws a two point perspective of a small home with sidewalks, street, and landscaping. He then views a video of time lapse photo of a home being built. He then watches a video of skateboards being made. Excellent session.
In this session, Jackson and I watched the Ken Ham/Answers in the Genesis video entitled Where Did God Come From? We discussed the content of the video which included God as Creator (infinite, eternal), creation as evidence of a Creator (Romans 1:20), and the fact that we do not have blind faith - God has given us the evidence through His Word and science confirms it.
We started to watch Episode 9 of America, The Story of Us. We read a summation of the areas covered. And, we read aloud post-viewing discussion questions.

design fundamentals. Jackson worked on another "Op" art design today. It was called "The Bulging Heart." He also looked into the art period known as "art nouveau." We looked up several artists and their styles of this time period, 1890 to 1910.
We continued with our exploration of yesterday's NYT Book Review and dove into an article about a book by a critic who gave his views on what makes writing either "good" or "bad." For example, "Cliches" are bad; tight, succinct writing is good.

We used yesterday's NYT Book Review supplement to explore writing enrichment issues. We began with the various "Best Seller" lists--Hard Cover and e-book editions, fiction and nonfiction. We moved to Middle Grade and Young Adult best seller lists--fiction and nonfiction. and concluded that much of the best-selling Young Adult and Middle Grade fiction is solidly based in fantasy fiction.

We reviewed regular present tense verbs, played Concentration on the Conjuguemos site to match pronouns and verbs with their appropriate conjugations, and Jackson played Battleship on the same site with verb conjugations--and won!
